Cebu travel agency launches CSR with programs for tour guides, environmental care, and cultural ties

CSP Travel and Tours launches the #GiveBackToThePhilippines Project, a CSR initiative supporting tourism front liners, environmental conservation, and cultural connections through guide sponsorships, tree planting with DENR, and symbolic guest activities.

CSP Travel and Tours Launches #GiveBackToThePhilippines Project with Tourism, Environment, and Cultural Initiatives - September 10, 2025 - Cebu, Philippines – September 10, 2025 – CSP Travel and Tours has launched its flagship corporate social responsibility initiative, #GiveBackToThePhilippines, a movement designed to support local communities, empower tourism frontliners, and preserve the country’s natural and cultural heritage.

Why #GiveBackToThePhilippines

The initiative stems from CSP’s gratitude for the growth it has enjoyed in recent years, particularly with the rise of Japanese visitors who continue to choose the Philippines as a destination. This success has benefited both the company and the communities it serves. With this in mind, CSP believes it is the right time to give back to the people and places that make these experiences possible.

The project is anchored on three key pillars:

  • Empowering local tourism front liners by supporting their professional growth.
  • Preserving the environment through sustainable programs.
  • Fostering cultural connections that create authentic and lasting memories.

First Activities under the Project

To mark the start of the initiative, CSP fully sponsored the training and licensing of 15 aspiring local guides. Over a month, the participants completed a DOT-accredited program organized by the Cebu Alliance of Tour Operation Specialists, Inc. (CATOS). They are now officially licensed tour guides, ready to welcome visitors with professionalism and heart.

CATOS President, Ma’am Alice Queblatin, noted the importance of such efforts:

“Tourism is making more impact today in many ways. What used to be just a leisure activity is now more meaningful. Guests look for authentic experiences, which the community provides. An important link between these sectors is the tour operator, whose expertise in product development and sales make a tour experience more memorable. Committed tour operators like CSP Travel lead efforts to organize and support community projects to help the industry as a whole.”

Commitment to Sustainability

CSP has also turned its focus to the environment. In partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the company joined a tree planting activity in Sunog, Balamban on June 25, 2025. This reflects the company’s recognition that the Philippines’ natural beauty is both a driver of tourism and a national treasure that must be protected.

Through this collaboration, CSP demonstrates the vital role of private organizations in conservation. By supporting DENR’s goals, the company aligns its operations with sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and the communities that rely on it.

Cultural Connection through Symbolic Gestures

To reinforce its philosophy, CSP introduced the “Coke Bottle Secret Messages” initiative. Guests receive specially prepared bottles with hidden notes revealed only after finishing their drink. Each message carries words of gratitude, encouragement, or hope—reminding travelers that their presence in the Philippines leaves a positive mark, not only on destinations but also on the communities that host them.

For CSP, this simple yet meaningful activity reflects its belief that travel is more than sightseeing—it is about connections, stories, and relationships that last long after the trip ends.

Looking Ahead

The #GiveBackToThePhilippines Project is only beginning. CSP Travel and Tours envisions more community-based activities in the coming months, including environmental restoration efforts and educational programs.

Through this initiative, CSP reaffirms its mission to not only provide memorable travel experiences but also to honor the Philippines by sharing the blessings of tourism. The company hopes these acts of gratitude will inspire others in the tourism industry to embrace sustainability, empower local stakeholders, and contribute to the greater good.

As the project expands, CSP Travel and Tours invites partners, stakeholders, and travelers to help build a tourism industry that is not only successful but also responsible, inclusive, and deeply connected to the people and places it serves.
