Brass to Class, part of the Pak Foundation, is transforming underfunded secondary schools in the Philippines by donating trombones to enrich their music programs. This press release highlights the positive impact on students, shares testimonials from recipient schools, and invites others to apply.

Philippines - October 02, 2024 - Brass to Class, a charitable initiative under the Pak Foundation, proudly continues its mission to support music education by donating trombones to underfunded secondary schools across the Philippines. The initiative is creating a profound impact by providing schools with essential brass instruments that help revive and expand their music programs, giving students opportunities they never had before.

Through the donation of trombones, schools are seeing an increase in student participation and overall enthusiasm for music education. The instruments are sparking new interest in the arts and providing educators with the tools they need to foster creativity and growth in their students.

Gratitude from Schools

Several schools that have received donations have shared their heartfelt gratitude and excitement for the opportunities these instruments have opened up for their students.

  • Llorente National High School, a recent recipient, shared their overwhelming excitement: “Full of gratitude, excitement, and much inspiration came into my heart when I was informed that our school will be receiving a new brass instrument. This instrument would encourage and inspire more learners to join our music program and help make more performances possible," said a representative from the school’s Mabikas Music Company. They added, “Although a thank you is an understatement for your kindness and generosity, we are SO MUCH GRATEFUL and hoping for your continued love and support."

  • Busay National High School: “We are grateful and glad that we were chosen to receive such an instrument. This will help us build our own band, especially for parades, since our students from the drum and bugle corps currently have to rent instruments from other groups," said a representative from Busay National High School. “Thank you for your generosity—this will surely be used in our school, and we’ll update you when one of our students masters this instrument.

  • Ramon Magsaysay Elementary School: "I was absolutely thrilled when I found out our school had been selected to receive brass instruments from Brass to Class. It felt like an incredible opportunity, not only for me but for all the students passionate about music," said the school coordinator. “This donation changes our entire approach to music instruction, allowing us to offer hands-on experience to more students, expand our band, and set higher standards for performances. We are deeply grateful to the donors for investing in our students’ future.”

These testimonials from the recipient schools demonstrate the transformative effect these brass instruments are having on students, providing them with a chance to develop their musical talents and participate in meaningful performances.

Empowering the Next Generation of Musicians

"Every note played is a step toward a brighter future, and we're proud to support these students on their musical journey," said Aaron Pak, Founder for Brass to Class. "These instruments are more than just tools—they’re gateways to creativity, discipline, and lifelong passion."

Aaron Pak and his team at the Pak Foundation are deeply committed to the belief that music education should be accessible to all students, regardless of their school's financial situation. By donating one trombone to each secondary school, Brass to Class is providing students with the opportunity to pursue their musical ambitions and giving schools the tools to grow their music programs.

A Call to Action for Schools in Need

Brass to Class is expanding its efforts to reach more schools across the Philippines. Schools in need of brass instruments are encouraged to apply through the Brass to Class website. Applications are open to secondary schools that lack the resources to purchase instruments, and selected schools will receive a donation of one trombone to help enhance their music programs.

"We believe in the transformative power of music, and we are driven to ensure that no student is left without the chance to explore their talents," added Pak. "Together, we’re building a brighter future for music education."
