Post ReleaseDonates recycled plastic chairs to Davao school
Petron repurposes used lube containers into school chairs, supporting sustainability and education in Davao City.
The Petron Operations Group and Petron Foundation. Inc. (PFI) led the turnover of 25 plastic chairs made from Petron lube containers to the F. Bangoy Elementary School, one of Petron’s partner schools in Davao City. PFI Executive Director and Corporate Affairs AVP Mia S. delos Reyes, Mindanao Operations District Manager Edicel R. Bautista, and Davao Terminal Manager Nathan T. Asoque led the turnover event. Flordeliza F. Atillo and other representatives from the school formally receive the chairs.
This donation was a result of Petron’s continued support to the EPR law through our Ready, Set, Recycle! advocacy which collects our used lube containers for recycling. Petron Davao Terminal’s plastic waste recycler contractor was able to produce one school armchair for every 125 kg of plastic waste received.
Davao Terminal expects to have more of these recycled chairs manufactured within the year as it intensifies its plastic waste collection efforts.
Petron continues to tread our sustainability roadmap guided by innovation. Producing school chairs from used lube containers cuts across multiple aspects of our ESG advocacies and show immediate positive results for our communities and the environment.
