Stockport, UK - October 30, 2026 - MANCHESTER, UK — October 16, 2026 — In a vibrant evening celebrating unity, grassroots service, and cultural exchange, Maha Putri Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura (Queen Maria), Founder and President of We Care for Humanity (WCH) and royal representative of the ancient Sultanate of Maguindanao, was honored at a welcome dinner at Rainbow 88 restaurant in Manchester.

The gathering was co-hosted by the We Care for Humanity UK leadership team—Maureen Brindle, WCH Literary Arts Ambassador and incoming WCH Regional Director for Manchester, and Councillor Wendy Meikle, incoming WCH Deputy Regional Director for Manchester—alongside Rainbow 88 co-owners Linda Lam and Steve.
The WCH team brought together close friends and esteemed community partners, creating an atmosphere of deep camaraderie and mutual respect. Despite being abroad, Linda Lam spearheaded the event's coordination, rallying members of the "Crispy Chicks"—a community support group established during post-pandemic recovery—to join local friends, patrons, and civic leaders in offering an exceptionally warm reception to Her Royal Highness. The evening featured live singing, karaoke, dancing, and heartfelt gift presentations welcoming Queen Maria to Manchester and honoring WCH's global mission.

During the event, Queen Maria introduced the rich heritage and royal traditions of the Sultanate of Maguindanao while praising Rainbow 88, the Crispy Chicks, and the gathered community members for their outstanding local philanthropy, highlighting the substantial charitable donations raised by the establishment over the years.
"I am deeply moved by the extraordinary warmth, hospitality, and friendship shown by the people and community leaders of Manchester," said Maha Putri Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura (Queen Maria). "My heartfelt gratitude goes to Maureen Brindle and Councillor Wendy Meikle for their steadfast dedication to We Care for Humanity, for bringing together such wonderful friends, and for accommodating and welcoming me so warmly to the UK. I am equally inspired by Linda Lam, Steve, and the fantastic Crispy Chicks. Even in her absence and while being out of the country, Linda’s remarkable effort to organize this event and rally this group demonstrates the true spirit of unity. Seeing Rainbow 88’s immense charitable donations and the genuine impact of the Crispy Chicks reminds us of how much good can be accomplished when hearts unite for service."

The celebratory dinner marked a highlight of Queen Maria’s European Philantourism Tour, cementing strong bonds between international delegates, local UK leadership, and the supportive Manchester community.
