Hive Modular and Samsung Team Up to Build the Philippines' First Smart Modular Home

Taguig, Philippines - June 04, 2026 - BONIFACIO GLOBAL CITY, Taguig City, Philippines, June 04, 2026 Hive Modular (Hive Dwellings Philippines, Inc.), one of the country’s leading manufacturers of modular homes in the Philippines, today announced a collaboration with Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation to co-develop the company’s first fully-integrated smart modular home.

The agreement, signed on May 8, 2026, will see the two companies jointly design, engineer, and pilot a modular housing unit that combines Hive Modular’s factory-built construction system with Samsung’s connected-home technologies. These include IoT-enabled appliances, energy management systems, and home automation platforms. The collaboration runs through December 2027.

The collaboration tackles two long-standing challenges in Philippine residential development. The first is the speed and quality limitations of traditional on-site construction. The second is the difficulty of retrofitting smart technology into homes that were not designed for it. By integrating connected systems into the design methodology, the resulting homes are engineered to be smarter, more energy-efficient, and ready to occupy from day one.

Why it matters

Modular construction can deliver finished homes in a fraction of the time of conventional building, with stricter quality control and significantly less on-site waste. Pairing factory-built modular homes with a fully-integrated smart home system is a first for the Philippine market. It is also a meaningful step toward making intelligent, energy-aware living accessible beyond the luxury segment.

The collaboration is designed with scale in mind. Developers, resort owners, and institutional clients will be able to deploy connected modular units across multiple sites, from staff housing and resort villas to entire residential communities, through a single, factory-integrated system.
