Post ReleaseCDA has developed an innovative marketing platform called CoopBiz.
CoopBiz is designed to showcase cooperatives' unique and quality products in the local and international marketplace. Qualified cooperatives that register on CoopBiz will be able to use DHL Express services to ship their goods and products.
DHL Express, the world's leading international express service provider, sign a partnership with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to support and extend accounts-promotional offers and discounts to international orders made via CoopBiz, CDA's e-Commerce marketplace for cooperatives.
CDA is a proactive and responsive lead government agency promoting long-term growth and full development of cooperatives in the Philippines to make instruments of fairness, social justice, and economic development.
To provide an enabling environment for cooperatives and usher further the growth of cooperatives in the country, the CDA has developed an innovative marketing platform called CoopBiz. It is designed to showcase cooperatives' unique and quality products in the local and international marketplace. This initiative of CDA in instituting reforms through innovative solutions will assist the cooperatives in marketing their products and services and establishing a marketing network, especially during the pandemic.
At least 30 cooperatives with unique and quality products have signified their readiness and anticipation to be part of the initial implementation of this global marketplace for cooperatives in the Philippines.
Qualified cooperatives that register on CoopBiz will be able to use DHL Express services to ship their goods and products. Furthermore, they will have access to exclusive promo codes and discounts on shipment bookings made via the platform. DHL Express customer service is also available to assist bookings or queries on the promo codes.
DHL Express Country Manager, Nigel Lockett and Undersecretary Joseph Encabo, signatories to the MOA, expressed their enthusiasm and optimism with this partnership.
"The cooperative sector has untapped potentials in the international market. We are thrilled to be working with CDA to provide and extend possibilities for these enterprises, making it easier for them to prosper through technology and digitalization,” said Nigel Lockett, Country Manager for DHL Express Philippines. “Cooperatives can fully harness our worldwide network to expand their businesses by leveraging our presence in over 220 countries and territories, paired with our logistic expertise.”
On the other hand, CDA will actively promote and market the promotional offers to its cooperatives through SMS and e-mails, on its official website, social media sites, mobile applications, and other channels.
“I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our partner DHL Express Philippines for participating in this momentous occasion. Both entities are going to serve the cooperative sector in the country. This is a milestone because this is not just about CDA, but how DHL can contribute to economic sustainability. I believe that DHL and CDA are now conduits of social equity and progress,” said CDA Undersecretary Joseph Encabo in his speech during the MoA signing.
Usec Encabo added, “I’m also thankful because DHL responded proactively, not just as a partner, but as a message that there is a private entity that offers genuine services to Filipinos. DHL plays its social responsibility role and manifests a genuine contribution to the country's economic growth.”
According to CDA Cooperatives statistics, there is a total of 18,857 operating cooperatives nationwide as of December 31, 2021. Cooperatives are known worldwide that it is capable of contributing significantly to social integration, job creation, and poverty reduction.
