Can ChatGPT find your business? Free AI readiness test launches for Philippine websites

Filipinos changed how they search. Most websites haven't caught up.

The Philippines ranks sixth in the world for ChatGPT use. In the Digital 2026 report by Meltwater and We Are Social, 42.4% of Filipino internet users aged 16 and over said they had used it in the past month. In September, Google rolled out Ask Maps in the Philippines, which lets people find places by asking Google Maps questions in plain language.

That shift creates a new problem for business owners. A single line in a robots.txt file, an overcautious firewall or a site that only shows its words after JavaScript runs can hide a business from these tools. There is no warning when it happens.

"Filipinos are already asking AI where to eat, which clinic to book and who to hire," said John Conigliaro, founder of Anahaw Digital. "If your website quietly turns those tools away, you're not on the shortlist. Nobody sends you an error message. The enquiries just slow down, and you never find out why."

What the test checks

Owners paste a page address and the test reads the page the way search engines and AI tools do. It checks:

1. Access: whether robots.txt lets in Google, Bing and the AI search crawlers behind ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude
2. Firewall: whether security settings turn AI crawlers away. The test visits as one to find out.
3. Readable text: whether the page's words can be read without running JavaScript
4. Indexing rules: noindex or nosnippet tags that stop a page being shown or quoted
5. Structured data: business schema that tells AI tools who you are and what you do
6. Answers: clear headings and real customer questions answered on the page
7. Basics: page title, description, HTTPS and an XML sitemap

Each page gets a score out of 100 and a plain-English list of what to fix.

"A lot of what this test finds can be fixed in an afternoon," Conigliaro said. "A blocked crawler is often one line of text. The hard part is knowing it's there."
