In a proud moment for AXA Philippines, Caloi Santos, Chief Transformation and Technology Officer, has been recognized as one of the Best Chief Information Officers of the Year for the insurance industry in the ISOG I Am Secure Cybersecurity Excellence Awards, Season Two. Organized by the Information Security Officers Group (ISOG), this award recognizes top cybersecurity leaders in various industries who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievements in securing their organizations. This year, Caloi is among 16 awardees from diverse sectors to be honored for their contributions in driving robust cybersecurity practices.
Recognizing excellence in cybersecurity leadership
ISOG, a coalition of cybersecurity, risk, and compliance professionals, introduced the awards as part of its mission to promote data security best practices in the Philippines. Now in its second season, the awards spotlight the growing emphasis on cybersecurity, particularly as companies navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape.
Career built on security and trust
For Santos, the award is a meaningful milestone in his two-decade career dedicated to information security. His experience encompassed various industries, from Procter & Gamble to JG Summit, and now AXA Philippines, gave him the expertise to elevate AXA’s cybersecurity standards, working closely with teams to keep it a top priority. “This award reflects AXA Philippines’ commitment to data security excellence, crucial for earning customer trust,” he shared. The ISOG award process involved nominations and a rigorous review of leadership, cybersecurity impact, and community involvement. Under Santos’ guidance, AXA has strengthened its security framework, minimized incidents, and achieved strong audit results, underscoring its dedication to robust cybersecurity.
Elevating security for generations to come
Santos is set on making security a core part of AXA Philippines’ strategic goals, aiming to position the company as a leader in data protection. He also hopes to resume teaching cybersecurity—a passion paused during the pandemic. “I miss teaching and look forward to sharing knowledge, especially as security becomes more critical across industries,” he shared.
This award highlights AXA Philippines’ commitment to data security, and with Caloi at the helm of transformation and technology, the company continues to set high standards in innovation and protection within the insurance industry.
