ASSIST’s sustainABILITY Project Earns Silver at Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards 2025

Manila, Philippines - October 02, 2025 - The Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) garnered the Silver Award in the Social - Talent Management category at the Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards for the sustainABILITY project, an initiative that addresses the Philippines’ widening green skills gap.

The project works closely with Technical-Vocational Institutions (TVIs), instructors, and students in Metro Manila and Cebu to design and deliver industry-relevant training programs. These programs focus not only on technical competencies, but also the development of green skills — the knowledge, abilities, and practices that enable individuals to participate effectively in the transition to a sustainable economy. 

These skills are essential to meeting the growing demand for green jobs, which promote healthier lifestyles, increase resource efficiency, and foster innovation across industries. Green jobs not only provide economic opportunities but also promote social equity, strengthen community resilience, and reduce carbon emissions coming from non-renewable energy sources. By equipping future workers with essential knowledge and competencies aligned with the green economy, sustainABILITY helps prepare a future-ready and skilled workforce capable of taking on new opportunities in sustainable industries.

The Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards honor organizations that go beyond business as usual—those that integrate sustainability, social responsibility, and innovation into their strategies and operations. This year’s awardees were recognized for their leadership in advancing environmental stewardship, upholding human rights, and fostering inclusive development.

Later this year, the organization will proudly represent the country at the Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, carrying with it not only the pride of its achievements but also the responsibility of advancing a shared vision of a more sustainable future for all.  

ASSIST’s recognition through the sustainABILITY project underscores its strong commitment to bridging the green skills gap and preparing a future-ready workforce. By integrating sustainability into technical-vocational training, ASSIST equips Filipinos to seize opportunities in the growing green economy and drive meaningful change across the country.
